Will Crandell

Will Crandell is a jazz drummer who was a winner of the 2016 National YoungArts Merit award in the jazz discipline.  He was also awarded Outstanding Drummer awards at the Essentially Ellington jazz festival in 2015 and 2016.  He has performed in and around the Seattle area throughout high school both as a sideman and with his own quartet of other young Seattle musicians.   


Will is fortunate to have studied with such greats as Randy Gelispie, Matt Wilson, Kendrick Scott, and Ted Poor and has performed with Marcus Printup, Helen Sung, Harold Mabern, Michael Dease, Anat Cohen, Anthony Wonsey, and Walter Blanding among others.  He is currently studying at Michigan State University and is focusing on obtaining his bachelors in jazz studies.
